How do I determine the amount of flooring I need for my space?

Determining the right amount of flooring for your space is a crucial step in any home improvement project. At Flooring King, we've got you covered with a simple guide to help you calculate the exact amount you need: Measure Your Space: Begin by measuring the length and width of the room. For irregularly shaped rooms, divide them into smaller, more manageable sections. Add Extra for Wastage: It's wise to account for wastage during installation. Depending on the complexity of your layout, add an extra 5-10% to your total square footage to accommodate cuts and unforeseen adjustments. Consider Pattern Matching: If your chosen flooring has a pattern or needs to be matched, consult with our experts at Flooring King to determine the extra amount required for a seamless look. Factor in Room Shape: Different room shapes may result in varying amounts of wastage. Take into consideration any alcoves, closets, or irregular corners that may affect your calculations. Soft Oak Medium brings a warm, natural wood feel to your home without the upkeep of real wood. This wide-plank laminate sits somewhere between light and rich in tone, making it suit both bright modern spaces and cosier traditional rooms. The textured, brushed finish catches the light gently and hides dust and footprints well.

At 12mm thick with a bevelled edge, it looks and feels substantial underfoot. The water-resistant core means splashes in kitchens and bathrooms won’t damage it, and the AC5 wear rating handles family life, work-from-home traffic and modest commercial use with ease. It’s built on an HDF core board that’s tough and stable across temperature swings.

Where it works

This laminate suits living rooms, kitchens, hallways, bedrooms, bathrooms, dining rooms, landings and stairs. It’s equally at home in offices and utility rooms. Its water resistance makes it a sensible choice for wet areas, whilst the click installation and underfloor-heating compatibility keep fitting simple and flexible.

Installation

It clicks together without glue, making fitting straightforward for experienced installers and saving time on site. The plank format works well with underfloor heating systems. You’ll need to lay an underlay beneath it to keep it stable and add cushioning underfoot.

Looking after it

Wipe spills with a damp cloth and let the floor dry quickly. Don’t flood it or leave standing water. Vacuum regularly and sweep to keep grit from scratching the surface. Quick-Step Laminate Flooring of this calibre comes with a lifetime residential warranty and 10-year commercial guarantee, so you’re covered for the long haul. Quick-Step Impressive Ultra Laminate Flooring is built to last.
