How do I determine the amount of flooring I need for my space?

Determining the right amount of flooring for your space is a crucial step in any home improvement project. At Flooring King, we've got you covered with a simple guide to help you calculate the exact amount you need: Measure Your Space: Begin by measuring the length and width of the room. For irregularly shaped rooms, divide them into smaller, more manageable sections. Add Extra for Wastage: It's wise to account for wastage during installation. Depending on the complexity of your layout, add an extra 5-10% to your total square footage to accommodate cuts and unforeseen adjustments. Consider Pattern Matching: If your chosen flooring has a pattern or needs to be matched, consult with our experts at Flooring King to determine the extra amount required for a seamless look. Factor in Room Shape: Different room shapes may result in varying amounts of wastage. Take into consideration any alcoves, closets, or irregular corners that may affect your calculations. Consult with Flooring Experts: Our team at Flooring King is always ready to assist you. Classic Oak 5175 brings a warm, natural oak grain to any room. The colour sits in a soft, medium-brown range, fitting easily into both period homes and modern schemes. It’s a wood look without the upkeep, wrapped in hard-wearing vinyl that stands up to spills and moisture.

Specifications

2mm thick with a 0.3mm wear layer
152mm wide, 914mm long planks
24 planks per pack, covering 3.34m2
Square edges for a clean, consistent seam
R10 anti-slip rating
Class 23 domestic, Class 31 commercial

Waterproof LVT Flooring makes it the smart choice for kitchens, bathrooms and hallways where water and moisture are everyday concerns. Spills wipe clean, and the surface won’t swell or cup. It’s also robust enough for light commercial settings, from offices to small retail areas.

Installation and compatibility

Glue-Down LVT means it fixes firmly to your subfloor with adhesive, so there’s no movement underfoot. It works over concrete, timber or existing vinyl, though your subfloor must be sound, level and dry. If you have underfloor heating, Classic Oak 5175 sits comfortably over it with no additional underlay needed.

2mm LVT flooring is durable for its weight and cost. At 2mm thick, it offers everyday resilience and good sound underfoot without the bulk of thicker options.

Care and warranty

Daily cleaning is straightforward. Sweep or vacuum to catch dust, then wipe with a damp mop and a touch of mild detergent. Avoid standing pools of water and very harsh abrasive cleaners. TLC backs this floor with a 15-year warranty against manufacturing defects.
