How do I determine the amount of flooring I need for my space?

Determining the right amount of flooring for your space is a crucial step in any home improvement project. At Flooring King, we've got you covered with a simple guide to help you calculate the exact amount you need: Measure Your Space: Begin by measuring the length and width of the room. For irregularly shaped rooms, divide them into smaller, more manageable sections. Add Extra for Wastage: It's wise to account for wastage during installation. Depending on the complexity of your layout, add an extra 5-10% to your total square footage to accommodate cuts and unforeseen adjustments. Consider Pattern Matching: If your chosen flooring has a pattern or needs to be matched, consult with our experts at Flooring King to determine the extra amount required for a seamless look. Factor in Room Shape: Different room shapes may result in varying amounts of wastage. Take into consideration any alcoves, closets, or irregular corners that may affect your calculations. Vanguard Affection Twist in Shadow delivers a rich black carpet with a neat twist pile that hides footprints and light marks. At 10mm deep with a 1350g/m² pile weight, it sits firm underfoot without the bulk, and the polypropylene construction means it bounces back after daily wear.

The real standout is the bleach-cleanable backing. Spills happen in family homes, and this Bleach Cleanable Carpet lets you tackle stains head on without worry. A quick blot with diluted bleach lifts marks that would defeat standard carpet. That’s practical peace of mind for hallways, stairs and busy living spaces.

Specifications

Pile: 10mm twist
Pile weight: 1350g/m²
Thickness: 12mm
Material: Polypropylene
Backing: Secondary
Roll length: 25 metres
Use classification: 23 (medium to high domestic traffic)

Where it works

This Carpet suits bedrooms, living rooms, dining rooms, hallways and landings. The twist pile resists matting in high-traffic zones, and the dark colour masks everyday dust and dirt. It’s equally at home in rental properties where durability and easy cleaning matter.

Installation

Fitted using the gripper method. Underlay is required, and the carpet works with underfloor heating systems, so you can layer it over warm floors without issue. Allow professional fitting to ensure it sits properly and performs as intended.

Looking after it

Vacuum regularly to lift pile and keep the twist texture clear. For spills, blot immediately and rinse with cool water. The bleach-cleanable treatment means you can use a diluted bleach solution on stubborn stains without damaging the backing. Vanguard backs this carpet with a 10-year warranty.
