How do I determine the amount of flooring I need for my space?

Determining the right amount of flooring for your space is a crucial step in any home improvement project. At Flooring King, we've got you covered with a simple guide to help you calculate the exact amount you need: Measure Your Space: Begin by measuring the length and width of the room. For irregularly shaped rooms, divide them into smaller, more manageable sections. Add Extra for Wastage: It's wise to account for wastage during installation. Depending on the complexity of your layout, add an extra 5-10% to your total square footage to accommodate cuts and unforeseen adjustments. Consider Pattern Matching: If your chosen flooring has a pattern or needs to be matched, consult with our experts at Flooring King to determine the extra amount required for a seamless look. Factor in Room Shape: Different room shapes may result in varying amounts of wastage. Take into consideration any alcoves, closets, or irregular corners that may affect your calculations. Consult with Flooring Experts: Our team at Flooring King is always ready to assist you. Vanguard Eminence Cookie is a medium brown carpet that handles the real-world mess. The soft cut pile sits at 10mm and feels gentle underfoot, whilst the bleach cleanable finish means you can tackle stains head-on without panic. Dirt, spills, life, the lot. It comes from Vanguard Carpets, a name that knows tough homes.

This plain weave sits well in bedrooms, living rooms, dining areas, halls and on the stairs. Its neutral tone pairs with most schemes and takes daily wear without showing the grime that lighter colours pick up. The polypropylene pile is stain resistant, keeping accidents from becoming permanent marks.

Specifications

Pile height: 10mm
Total thickness: 12mm
Pile weight: 1150g/m²
Material: Polypropylene cut pile
Backing: Secondary
Use classification: 23 (domestic)

Underlay is required to lock the pile in place and give you the right feel underfoot. The carpet suits underfloor heating, so it works with modern warm systems if you have them fitted.

Installation

Vanguard Eminence Cookie is fitted using the gripper method, the standard for domestic carpet. A professional fitter will stretch and secure it properly.

Looking after it

The bleach-cleanable backing gives you real peace of mind. Spill something? You can use dilute bleach to shift the stain without damaging the pile. Vacuum regularly to keep the nap fresh and prevent grit from settling in. Vanguard backs this carpet with a 10-year warranty, covering the pile for normal household use.
