How do I determine the amount of flooring I need for my space?

Determining the right amount of flooring for your space is a crucial step in any home improvement project. At Flooring King, we've got you covered with a simple guide to help you calculate the exact amount you need: Measure Your Space: Begin by measuring the length and width of the room. For irregularly shaped rooms, divide them into smaller, more manageable sections. Add Extra for Wastage: It's wise to account for wastage during installation. Depending on the complexity of your layout, add an extra 5-10% to your total square footage to accommodate cuts and unforeseen adjustments. Consider Pattern Matching: If your chosen flooring has a pattern or needs to be matched, consult with our experts at Flooring King to determine the extra amount required for a seamless look. Factor in Room Shape: Different room shapes may result in varying amounts of wastage. Take into consideration any alcoves, closets, or irregular corners that may affect your calculations. Vanguard Eminence Sand is a light beige cut pile carpet that handles what daily life throws at it. The bleach-cleanable finish means you can tackle stains without worrying about damaging the colour or pile.

At 10mm pile height, it feels soft underfoot whilst staying dense enough to resist everyday wear. The plain weave sits well in most rooms and works with most interior schemes. Vanguard Carpets use polypropylene throughout their range, and this one delivers stain resistance as standard.

Where it works

Carpet from this range suits bedrooms, living rooms, dining areas, hallways and landings. It’s rated for domestic use in homes with average foot traffic. The secondary backing and underlay requirement keep it stable underfoot and reduce impact noise.

Installation and care

This carpet uses gripper fitting, the traditional method that holds it taut around the room edges. You’ll need underlay underneath, and it works with underfloor heating systems too. The bleach-cleanable pile means you can use standard carpet cleaners and even dilute bleach on stubborn marks without risk. Day to day, vacuum regularly and blot spills straight away.

Vanguard back this carpet with a 10-year warranty against wear and manufacturing faults.
