Is dark laminate flooring still in style?
Yes. Dark plank floors have stayed in the top 5 most-installed flooring colours every year since 2020. Smoked oak and near-black tones have grown the fastest in 2024–25.
Does dark laminate make a room look smaller?
Only when paired with dark walls. Dark laminate against light walls actually makes a room feel larger by lowering the visual “floor line”, designers call this the grounded-base effect.
Will dark laminate show scratches more than light?
Slightly, but our AC4/AC5 rated floors come with anti-scratch wear layers. Matte finishes hide marks far better than glossy.
Can I install dark laminate over underfloor heating?
Yes, most floors in this range are UFH-compatible up to 27°C. Each product page lists compatibility.
How much dark laminate do I need?
