About Polyflor Affinity 255

Polyflor Affinity 255 is part of the glue-down luxury vinyl selection; the individual pieces bond to a prepared base, with the visible design forming the top of the finished floor. The floor’s backing is made for that specified system.

You can have a close-fitting layout of planks or tiles with a printed wood or stone appearance, depending on the design; the fixing method is separate from that visual choice. The exact product determines its room suitability and wear specification, so a similar printed face can belong to a different type of vinyl construction.

The printed face can include small grain marks or changes of tone within a stone effect; you can have detail at floor level while keeping the walls plain. Surface embossing adds texture on some designs, with the exact finish determining how the floor looks from an angle and feels beneath your feet.

You can browse Polyflor LVT within our wider flooring selection.

What is luxury vinyl flooring

Luxury vinyl flooring, often called LVT, is made in separate planks or tiles with a decorative surface beneath a protective wear layer. Wood effects reproduce the grain of timber, while stone effects use printed detail to suggest the texture of a different material. You get that look in a vinyl floor.

The backing and core vary between collections; some products are flexible and fixed with adhesive, while others have a rigid core and locking joints. The chosen floor system affects the build beneath the same style of printed design.

Wood and stone looks for your home

A wood effect vinyl floor can give you grain and colour variation in a room where you prefer a surface without real timber. Stone-style designs create a different base for painted cabinets or upholstered furniture, with printed mineral detail instead of a wood grain pattern.

The shape of each piece matters to the finished look. Long planks create rows across the room, while tile formats have a different balance of joints. The piece size and the printed design determine the pattern beneath your furniture.

You can also find LVT adhesives among the related products across the Flooring King catalogue.

Luxury vinyl in everyday rooms

LVT can suit a range of spaces in your home, from a living room with rugs to a kitchen with fixed units; its room suitability depends on the exact product and the way the floor is fitted. A domestic design and a floor approved for commercial use may look similar but have different specifications.

You get a firm surface with a different feel from a ceramic tile; the backing and the floor beneath it affect comfort and sound, so those qualities vary between flexible vinyl and rigid core products.

Water resistance and daily care

Vinyl does not have the absorbent wood fibre core found in standard laminate, but the completed floor still includes joints and edges; a product’s water resistance does not turn every room into a wet room. The approved use relates to the whole floor system.

The finished surface does not need the oils used on some timber floors. Routine cleaning removes loose dirt and marks with products made for vinyl. Like other finished floors, LVT can be scratched by grit or damaged by sharp objects, even when it has a protective wear layer.
