About The Floor Hub – Percussionist 2.0

The Floor Hub – Percussionist 2.0 puts more visible design into a modular carpet floor; the pattern can create direction or a change of tone across the pieces, with the finished effect determined by the selected design and its approved laying options.

You can use a patterned tile beneath plain furniture or make the floor part of the way a larger space is divided visually; the view across several pieces differs from the close detail of a single tile. The surface design sits above a backing with its own product-specific properties.

The boundary between tiles can remain visible in the finished floor, even with a close colour match; you may prefer that modular appearance in an open room, where the repeated format gives the surface a defined structure. A mixed or textured face creates a different effect from a tile with one even-looking shade.

What are carpet tiles

Carpet tiles are separate pieces of textile flooring with a backing beneath each section. They create a carpeted surface from a repeated format instead of a broad roll cut to the full room. The pile and backing vary between collections, so carpet tiles can have different textures and levels of firmness.

You will often see them in offices and other shared interiors, although room suitability belongs to the exact product; the modular format is part of their appeal where the floor needs a textile surface with clearly defined pieces.

Colour and pattern in a tiled floor

A carpet tile floor can look fairly even or show a more distinct grid, depending on the surface design and laying direction; a plain-looking tile has a different effect from a linear design, which creates a visible change across the room when its direction changes.

You can use a single shade as a background to office furniture or include a contrasting area within an approved layout; the effect comes from the relationship between the tiles as well as the colour of one piece. Small joints remain part of the finished floor.

Carpet tiles in shared interiors

The tiled format is useful in rooms where furniture creates separate zones across one open floor; a textile surface can soften the sound within the space, though published acoustic results relate to the selected product and the complete floor construction.

Individual pieces may be replaceable when a local area is damaged, depending on the fixing system and access; that can reduce the area of flooring affected by a small repair. A new tile may still differ in shade from an older floor because of wear or a change between production batches.

Pile, backing and daily use

The backing gives each carpet tile its body, while the pile forms the visible texture; a lower, firmer surface feels different from a softer velour finish. The declared use class and any castor-chair rating are specific to the collection, rather than a result of the tile format alone.

Routine care removes loose dirt from the textile face and deals with marks using a cleaner suited to the fibre; the intended cleaning method varies by product. A tiled carpet still needs the same attention to its yarn as other textile flooring.
